Why I didn't marry a rich man...

I think that today I have figured this out. It all started yesterday with one of our wire vendors. We have been ordering wire from Anixter for quite some time and we've had very few problems. Although I know for a fact that one of our owners, Trevor, loves them, it seems that Georgios may hate them. Because, one minor problem last year at this time made him almost cut all ties with them. It's not like other vendors don't make mistakes (and many more than Anixter). I, of course, am a bit partial to the guys over there because we have become good friends. But, they really are terrific vendors. Anyway, a year ago we ordered some striped wire from them and the striping was flaking off. Turns out...it was a bad batch. Well, yesterday we discovered that the same thing was going on. Georgios (the particular rich man in question) flipped out. He yelled at Justin, who is the contact at Anixter, and he yelled at all of us. We have one other supplier we can get this from and it's who Sensorwise (ie: Georgios) likes to use. However, we found out this morning that we have gotten wire from the other supplier before and had the same problem. Then, we found out that the problem is not with us, but with the spec originally supplied be the engineers (ie: Sensorwise). The point here is that Georgios came over here ranting, raving, and pointing fingers when he SHOULD have been looking within his own organization. Actually, I guess that isn't the point. I'm supposed to be talking about why I wouldn't marry a rich man. And, the reason for that is that rich men apparently can afford to be totally illogical and irrational and fly off the handle. Then, when they find out they are wrong, they don't have to apologize. I guess there are plenty of reasons to marry for money, but to me this one reason not to is enough.

A whole lotta waiting...

I have decided that I spend most of my life waiting for something. At the moment, I am waiting (in immense boredom) for answers on parts that I am trying to expedite. After I get answers on all of those parts, I will be waiting for something else to do, since that comprises most of my job. During the work week, I spend an insane amount of time waiting for the weekend, even when there is nothing great planned for the weekend. I spend even more time waiting for September, due to the fact that I will no longer have to come to work and do ANYMORE of the waiting mentioned above. I am also waiting for September because I am waiting for a kid to get here. And, in between all of that waiting, I'm waiting for smaller things that I am looking forward to...like my furniture getting here, or my baby shower. All in all, I'd say that is a pretty unbelievable amount of time spent waiting. I know that I should be living in the moment, which I do on the weekends. But, as far as all the other times, it's hard to live in the moment when you aren't interested in anything that's going on in the moment.

My new clothes...as opposed to the Emperor

Thank God I went to Carrie and Greg's house last night. I finally have things to wear! And, I got a huge tote full of stuff. There is only one small problem...the pants are a little short. But, I don't know if they make maternity pants in different lengths. I may just have to go and buy myself a couple of pairs of pants and some jeans. I might do that tonight. I like the idea of not having to SEARCH through my things to find one outfit that MIGHT fit my big stomach. So, I'm pretty excited about this, needless to say.

Also, tomorrow we find out what the baby is. That should be cool. Me, David, and about 15 other people are going to this appointment. I don't even want to know what my doctor must think of us. But, she's very polite and never says a word. Still, I'm sure she's like "great, here come these people again". Oh well...not like I really care.

I have a meeting in nine minutes. Since I got in trouble last week for saying that I hate the meetings because of Georgios, even though I didn't say that, I might as well say it now. I hate these meetings. But, I guess I better got going.

Tiffany says write...

and so I write. Plus, again, I am bored at work. The men have all left and although I'm not sure where they went, I heard something about golf. This is not a surprise. Gavin left, too, though, and he can't be playing golf. He has to go to the stupid basketball game tonight.

Anyway, I refuse to focus on things that I'm not happy about today. Which should be difficult because that leaves me with very little to write about. I spent most of my day reading "The Time Traveler's Wife". I am almost done with it and will probably finish it on Tuesday, when I come back to work. I also spent some of the day pricing out the cost of redecorating the bathroom in the cool rubber duckie theme (either the pink/blue and brown depending on the outcome Thursday). It's going to cost me less than $200 for everything, so that's nice.

I am going to rush out of here in about 21 minutes, maybe less if I'm feeling adventurous, since no one else is here. I have to do 10,000 things before tonight and I told some friends that I would meet them at Stars for poker tonight. I don't REALLY want to do anything at all tonight, but I also get too scared to sit at home alone. And, since I don't have to work tomorrow and since David has to go to this stupid basketball game, then I will go.

I guess I may as well focus on the one thing that's really making me unhappy today or I won't be able to get past it, it seems. I'm slightly angry that David is going to this basketball game. There are two reasons. The first one was more the straw that broke the camel's back (a superfluous reason, but still important). I think it's really crappy that David was so against me going and doing something tonight. I told him that since he was going out and I don't like to be scared at home alone, I was going out, too. He couldn't seem to understand why I wouldn't want to sit around the house and wait on him to get home. Well, guess what Ward, June's going out. I'm so tired of being the one who just sits there waiting for him. I refuse to do it any longer. It's not as though I'll be drinking and driving or any other dangerous thing he might have to worry about. The second reason, and the thing that really bothers me...and when I say "bother" I mean it in the sense that it truly eats at me. It's just been taking tiny little nibbles at me all day and slowly I feel like I'm going crazy. The second reason is that he made a comment about how "this basketball game will be a wonderful excuse for him to spend time with his dad". Good for him. Good for them, really. Spending quality time with the people you care about is important. I KNOW THIS. THIS is what I've been trying to tell him for over a month now. THIS is what I started hinting at, then began blatantly saying to him, then began crying over. THIS is what I have noticed absolutely no change in the entire time I've been asking for change. And, I know, we're going away for the weekend. But, that makes me almost want to cry because that's our anniversary. It's a special occasion. It's not like he just decided to WANT to spend time with me and then did. He has to...it's a prerequisite of marriage. And, after this weekend, things will go back to the way they have been...which makes me very sad. But, I should be happy that he's even agreed to this weekend. And, "he's even going to turn his phone off". I'm such a lucky girl! To be honest, I don't even believe that will happen. The addiction to Mafia Wars is strong enough to ruin our marriage, why wouldn't it be strong enough to make him break one small promise?

And, scene...wouldn't that make a great audition for a movie entitled "Whiny bitch of a wife does nothing, but nag"? Good alliteration in the title, too. So, these are days of my life. Great, huh?

Bored

So, to be honest, the main reason I decided to start this blog is because I'm REALLY bored at work. I can't guarantee that I will continue to write, nor will it bother me if I don't. I also make no guarantees that anything I have to say will be interesting, as there is certainly nothing interesting about my day so far.

I guess I could start by mapping out my plans for the rest of this week and the weekend. I sort of need something to go on anyway just so I know what I'm doing.

Tonight I fully plan on doing nothing. But, that really only means that I will have 15,000 more things to do tomorrow so I may need to rethink that plan. So, either tonight or tomorrow after work I have a whole slew of things to get done for my sister's shower on Saturday. I'm going to start by going to Walgreen's and getting pictures printed for the 40 frames that I made for table decorations. I know that I made them and I'm probably biased, but they are VERY cute. Then, I need to head over to Walmart to shop for some groceries. I need everything on my list for the homemade blueberry muffins. I'm also making a fruit dip and so I'll need the stuff for that, including fruit. Also, on Friday, I will have to make 36 heart-shaped blueberry muffins, fruit dip, and stick all the pictures in the frames (might need a glue gun for some of that work). It might become essential for me to do the pictures and frame stuff tonight.

This all leads me to Saturday. I have to be at Faith West at 9:30 am to start getting everything set up, since the shower starts at 11:00 am. This means that I'm going to have to wake up pretty early to get dressed. I think David is going to drop me off so that he can head over to the tux place in Old Katy. He needs to be fitted for the wedding. And, then, the shower will commence. Of all the things I've felt stressed out about lately, I've actually enjoyed doing things for this shower more than anything else. I just love the creativity that's involved in all of this stuff.

So, that's the weekend. I guess Sunday I just get to relax and crochet. I'll probably need some downtime. Anyway, write more later!
